In 1946, a group of Transylvania Saxons who had served in the United States military during World War II, formed an organization which over the next several decades raised money for charitable causes, including providing aid to wounded and disabled Veterans. Many of the events of the Saxon Veterans Association were held at the Sachsenheim.
