To say Schweinfurth was a perfectionist would be an understatement. To speak to the intensity of this man; once while inspecting a "decorative plaster frieze in a home" Schweinfurth quickly expressed his displeasure with the work. Schweinfurth took up an ax and slashed the "workmanship...As the story has it, the plasterer standing by picked up a board and swiped Schweinfurth across the face with it."
